Pink flower : Boke (Chaenomeles speciosa, Japanese quince)
|
| Original home : Japan China Season : February to April |
|
Originally it was imported in Heian era (1200 years ago) and started to
cultivate widely in Edo era (400 year ago). There are various colors; red, white, scarlet and dapples. This time we take notice of mellow rose-pink color of the hanaire which is associated signs of the approach of spring. So we choose this pale color which matches with the hanaire very well. We select a tree with a few flowers because the shape of a tree is also tasteful and elegant.

| Yellow flower : Suisen (Narcissus tazetta var. chinensis) |
|
Original home : the Mediterranean region Season : December to April
|
|
This flower was imported in Japan via China in the past. The name is derived
from that of the narcisstic youth of Greek mythology called Narkissos.
He was in love with himelf reflected in the fountain. The reflection never
responded to Narkissos. He pined away with desere, eventually transforming
into the flowe that bears his name. In China Narcissus is happy plant for
the New Year because its flower looks like silver saucer and gold cup.
Its dignified fragrance and figure has attracted people.

| The straight body reminds us of the shape by Toyo Kaneshige, his father
and a living national treasure. On the contrary, the dynamic neck is becoming
to Kosuke Kaneshige. We feel steady strength of him by this whole shape.
The firing deserves the firing of "Kaneshige ". You can enjoy
various views of ash, scarlet color, dry and tasteful surface. |
