  • 1938 Born as Shoichi Watanabe in Osaka
  • 1957 Studied at Central Art School
  • 1959 Studied at the Saburo Miyamoto Class, Contemporary Art Laboratory
  • 1972 Started ceramics
  • 1972-86 Since building an underground single-chamber kiln ( anagama ) in 1972, has built 16 kilns
  • 1975 As being in bad health while studying in Europe, abandoned painting
  • according to doctor's suggestion
  • 1986 Built a kilns in Ushimado, Okayama
  • 1989 Established the Sekichu-kai group of artists working in the plastic arts
  • 1996 A member of planning and foundation of Shimane Design College.Invited
  • professor for ceramics.
  • 1999 Established Konohana Yokota private school for ceramics, Shimane
  • 2004 Three water jars were collected in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC
  • 2006 Two paitings were collected in Tokyo National Museum of Modern Art
